Bzzzzzz

I’m a BzzAgent. What’s that? I signed up here, filled out surveys and now get stuff free in the mail to try out. The products I get are based on the surveys I take, so they are catered to my tastes. I then review the products on the BzzAgent website and Bzz about it on Facebook and Twitter. It’s pretty fun! I’ve only been a part of a few “campaigns”, but so far, I’ve had a blast. To Bzz about the latest campaigns I’m in, I’m writing a blog post to share two cool products I’ve had the privilege of trying out.

Do you like candy? I do. I love M&Ms with peanuts and Snickers bars.

Do you like artificial coloring, hydrogenated stuff, corn syrup, preservatives and GMOs? Me neither.

Good news! There is a company that doesn’t have any of that junk, but tastes just like the top candies available at CVS and other major stores! Incredibly, this company doesn’t use artificial food coloring in their products. Check out the color wheel they have provided on their website. It compares where they get their colors from verses where other candy companies get their colors from. Fascinating!

You can always get “healthy” candy at health food stores, but now this wonderful option is available at places like Walgreens, CVS, etc. Want to know where you can buy it near you, click here.

I’m really thankful for Unreal. Junk is just not necessary. So their taking it out.

So here is their promise to you:

GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT UNREAL AND WE’LL KEEP UNJUNKING YOUR FAVORITE JUNK FOODS.

Thanks Unreal!

Campaign #2: Glade.

I bought two oil diffusers from Target (for free with coupons provided by BzzAgent) and put one in the reception area at my office and in my bathroom at home. The office now smells like sweet apple pie and I am constantly hungry. From the moment I put the air freshener out, I’ve received non-stop comments about how good it smells in the office now. I’m not much of an air freshener person. I was raised by a woman that can’t stand perfume. But, these scents are actually very genuine and refreshing. I don’t get a headache with these. :) I have two huge books of coupons to try these for free, so if you are interested, leave a comment.

WordPress has a new wedding blog theme!

It was already very user friendly to use WordPress as a wedding website with it’s forms and pages (People RSVP’d on my blog and it sent me an email with the info!) So this theme makes it even easier! Too bad I don’t have to plan a wedding any more. Going… through… withdrawals…

Enjoy!

The WordPress.com Blog

One of the most important events of your life might just be your wedding. It also might be one of the craziest, disorganized, mixed-up times of your life too. We’d like to help with that a bit with a free wedding theme we call Forever. Along with a handful of cool features we’ll get to below, Forever makes it easy to wrap your wedding up in a neat little blog on WordPress.com. You can show off every one of your best photos and highlight every important detail leading up to the big day and beyond.

The Forever Theme

Forever makes it easy to welcome your family and friends to your blog with a dramatic personalized home page. The design is bold and clean with lots of room for large, colorful photos of the happy couple (that’s you!) in an optional featured post slider and home page excerpts.

Oh Yeah, New Years Resolutions!

Phillip and I technically got married last year, but I feel like a honeymoon is a great way to start a new year! We are super excited to design and decorate our new home, start a ton of projects and just be a happy married couple. We are enjoying married life, but there is just never enough time to spend with one another… this working 9-5 thing is really getting in the way. OK, so maybe it’s essential to life, but I can’t wait for Phillip and I to start get our hands dirty on some home projects.

Now that wedding planning is over, I’ve found myself actually reading my google reader again. It feels so good to get back in touch with old “friends”. Not that I actually know any of the bloggers I follow, but I feel like I know them. I’ve made a resolution to comment on more of my favorite blogs and actually give feedback. Who knows, maybe I’ll actually make connection with the artists behind these fantastic blogs!

I’m also investing more time in the blog to help improve it. I purchased a domain name, so now the blog phillipandtricia.wordpress.com will redirect you to oururbanfrontier.com. Yay! I’m hoping to journal our exciting first year of married life and life on the ranch. You know, kinda like Pioneer Woman, but of the hipster variety that live 15 minutes from the mall, in southern California, but live on a ranch. :D I want to share all of our projects and crafts, along with all of our adventures here in the sticks and in the the city. Hopefully it will be a blog that DIYers, crafters and those who just love to look at cool pictures of DIY stuff will benefit from. If you read this blog and enjoy a post or have a question, I encourage you to leave a comment.

Other resolutions? Here are a few for me…

I saw these prints on a favorite blog of mine, A Pair of Pears (their last name is Bartlett!) and had to do my own. Chris Streger at toresolveproject.com started creating new years resolutions prints and has gathered together a host of fabulous designers. He also provides a template so you can create your own! Sweet!

1. I always come away from conversations wishing I had talked less and asked more questions.

2. This applies to starting businesses and climbing. I’m a huge wus.

3. Contentment is not my strong suit. I always want more and fail to love what I have. I think that is one of the best parts of the repurposing movement, I can take something I have a renew it.

4. Now a bit harder since I live in the sticks, but I hope to start biking a little more. I need a new bike… shoot… must remember number 3.

5. The hardest one of all. I want to learn Spanish before we take our trip to Spain, read like 5 different books at the moment, get chickens (and maybe a goat), plant a garden, build a patio, practice more photography, learn how to letterpress, do a project every week for our house (for the blog), etc. etc. The list goes on and on.

Here is to a great first year of marriage!

I Even Hear it in the Radio

Aside

“In the meadow we can build a snowman,
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown,

He’ll say: Are you married?,
We’ll say: No man,
But you can do the job
When you’re in town.

Later on, we’ll conspire,
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid,
The plans that we’ve made,
Walking in a winter wonderland.”

How to subscribe

It has been mysteriously hard to sign up to follow our blog.  Here’s what you need to do: Put your e-mail address in the box down on the right (under Mailing List), and click the button.  You will be sent an e-mail that allows you to confirm the subscription and shows you which wordpress blogs you are following.  Note: If you click the button before you enter your e-mail address in the little box, you will be led astray and be eternally confused.

We have also been learning CSS (Cascading Style Sheets, code that sets up the layout of pages).  It is quite tedious but we have managed to tweak the blog more to our liking.  We hope you like it too!
